Health and Safety
Travel with Confidence: Our Commitment to Your Well-being
At Gourmet Hiker, your safety is the foundation of our service. We believe that true luxury is the peace of mind that comes from knowing every detail—from the cleanliness of your room to the preparation of your lunch—has been managed with meticulous care.
Rigorous Standards, Authentic Stays
Our accommodation partners are more than just providers; they are trusted collaborators. We work exclusively with high-standard, often family-run hotels that share our dedication to excellence.
- Certified Safety: We insist on up-to-date health and cleanliness certifications for every property we use.
- Personal Oversight: We liaise closely with hotel management to ensure all safety and hygiene protocols meet—and exceed—government recommendations.
Gourmet Safety: From Market to Table
Food is the heart of our journeys, and its safety is paramount.
- Expert Preparation: Our Tour Managers are fully trained in food safety, following strict protocols for every alfresco picnic.
- Curated Dining: We maintain long-standing relationships with local restaurants, prioritizing alfresco dining and private areas to ensure a relaxed, airy, and safe environment.
Seamless & Sanitary Transport
Our travel distances are intentionally short—typically around thirty minutes—minimizing time spent in transit. Our vehicles undergo a thorough sanitization of high-contact areas every night, and hand sanitizer is provided for use before every embarkation. While masks are not required in our minibuses, we fully support your personal choice to wear one.
The Natural Advantage
The very nature of a Gourmet Hiker holiday is inherently suited to safe travel. By choosing small groups (maximum 16), exploring remote, off-the-beaten-track routes, and traveling outside peak seasons, we naturally avoid crowded tourist hubs.
Spend your days in the fresh Mediterranean air and your evenings in handpicked sanctuaries, confident in a team that puts your well-being first.
The nature of our tours gives us confidence that we can travel safely and continue to offer guests an enjoyable and authentic experience. Our small groups have a maximum of 16 guests; we spend the majority of our time in the fresh open air, and usually we are in relatively remote areas with few other tourists. Our off-the-beaten-track routes take us to less populated museums and attractions, and we visit areas outside the peak tourist seasons.
